Bachelor's Degree in Middle School Education

Kids at any age are great to work with, but there is something special about those middle school years – fifth through eighth grade. At this pivotal time in students’ lives, it’s essential that they are guided by educational role models that can help them succeed in school and in life. Is that you?

If you feel called to education, you can prepare for a successful career with a teaching degree. At UC, this middle school education degree (5-8) can prepare you to become a junior high teacher or middle school teacher.

Our teaching program will give you an excellent, well-rounded foundation in education, enabling you to direct your course of study toward your specific career goals with specializations in mathematics, science, English/communication, social studies, and special education. During your time at UC, you’ll learn from professors who have practical teaching experience in the field. Plus, you’ll have access to our instructional media library with its wide variety of teaching materials and media.

With your bachelor’s degree in education, you’ll also have an opportunity for field study during your 12-week practicum at one of several schools within the district. University of the Cumberlands has great P-12 partnerships, which can help maximize clinical experiences and provide students with relationships for seeking employment.

What can I do with an Education degree?
