To be considered for full admission into the Ed.D. program in Educational Leadership, prospective candidates must:

Have a master's degree (teacher's license is not necessary).

Have an earned graduate GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Have earned, within the past five years, a combined verbal and quantitative score of at least 750 on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or 450 on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). Test scores older than five years may be considered if they are above 800 on the GRE or above 475 on the MAT. Other graduate school admissions tests such as the LSAT or GMAT may be considered on a case by case basis.

Submit a sealed letter of recommendation and support from a current school supervisor or administrator.

Be interviewed by the Director of the Ed.D. program and the Chair of Community and Higher Education.

Provide a writing sample of no more than two pages that explains your motivation for earning the doctorate. If not submitted with the application, the essay may be written as part of the application process or during the formal interview.
Conditional Admission
An applicant who fails to meet the above criteria for regular admission but who has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on all graduate work may be admitted on a conditional or provisional basis. Students granted conditional admission will be required to satisfy specific conditions in order to continue enrollment in the program.
