Admissions

Elementary Education (P-5)

  • Completed Graduate Application and payment of associated application fee
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree
  • Official Transcript(s)
    • Must be received from ALL degree issuing colleges/universities and show a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Passing score on the Praxis II Content Knowledge exam in Elementary Education
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation

Middle School Education (5-9) –English, Math, Science, Social Studies

  • Completed Graduate Application and payment of associated application fee
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree
  • Official Transcript(s)
    • Must be received from ALL degree issuing colleges/universities and show a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Passing score on the associated Praxis II Content Knowledge exam(s)
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation

  • Middle School Candidates have the option of pursuing certification in one or two emphasis area:
    • For candidates pursuing 2 emphasis areas, Middle School certification requires a minimum of 24-27 background hours (English-24, math- 25, science- 26, social studies-27). Transcripts will be evaluated to determine eligibility.
    • For candidates pursuing one emphasis area, Middle School certification requires a minimum of 30 background hours or a major in your desired emphasis area. Transcripts will be evaluated to determine eligibility.

Secondary Education (8-12) - Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, English, Math, Physics, Social Studies

All Grades (P-12) Art, Health, Integrated Music, Physical Education

Business & Marketing (5-12)

  • Completed Graduate Application and payment of associated application fee
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree
  • Official Transcript(s)
    • Must be received from ALL degree issuing colleges/universities and show a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Passing score on the associated Praxis II Content Knowledge exam(s)
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation

  • Secondary, All Grades, and Business & Marketing certifications require a minimum of 30 background hours or a major in your desired emphasis area.  Transcripts will be evaluated to determine eligibility.

Special Education – Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD) – (P-12)

  • Completed Graduate Application and payment of associated application fee
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree
  • Official Transcript(s)
    • Must be received from ALL degree issuing colleges/universities and show a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Passing score on the Praxis II Elementary Education Content Knowledge exam
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation
