"I enjoyed the convenience and flexibility of the schedule especially with four children. The small classes made it great for developing relationships within the group."
University of the Cumberlands Rank I program is for licensed Kentucky educators who seek to advance their career in education and obtain a rank change. This requires a variety of graduate courses totaling thirty credit hours.
The Rank I certification program may be completed while obtaining additional certification in Special Education or in a School Leadership role: School Principal, Director of Special Education, Supervisor of Instruction, Director of Pupil Personnel, or School Superintendent. The ability to earn Rank I status while simultaneously obtaining additional certification makes our program an excellent choice for those who wish to excel in the field of education.
Courses are offered in an online format to accommodate working educators and are available throughout the year in six eight-week terms, allowing you to complete a rank change in less than a year.
The Rank 1 program is designed to promote the development of a set of dispositions, pedagogical strategies, and technological skills that will enable you to meet the varied needs of diverse learners. The actualization of this vision is achieved through the attainment of conceptual, strategic, evaluative, and communicative knowledge.
