Graduate Stafford Loan Request Form

Student MUST have current FAFSA on file before submitting a loan request form.

Graduate and professional students are eligible to borrow up to $20,500 annually (about $6,800 per semester if enrolled in summer, fall, and spring) in Direct UNSUBSIDIZED Stafford Loans. This will mean that as the borrower, you will be responsible for the interest that accumulates while you are in school.

Important Note: BEFORE submitting this form students should register for all classes they are taking, in both sets of bi-term classes. Students should also submit loan request for both bi-terms at once. Please consider your full semester needs before submitting a loan request.

Please indicate the dollar amount you would like to borrow for tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses.

Next Step: An official award letter from UC will be mailed to you indicating the loan approval. You are required to sign and return the form to our office showing acceptance or denial of the loan. Additionally, if this will be your first semester of Federal Direct Loan assistance at UC, you MUST complete Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and sign a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) at www.studentloans.gov in order for your loan to be disbursed to your student account.
