Degree Requirements

Associate of Science
As part of University of the Cumberlands’ Associate of Science degree requirements, each student must complete 61 semester hours – with at least a third of them completed through our university.

The program requires coursework in the following areas:
Christian Faith – 3 hours
Writing Competence – 6 hours
Mathematics – 3 Hours
Science – 4 Hours
History – 3 Hours
Culture – 3 Hours
Aesthetic Appreciation – 3 Hours
Social and Professional Awareness – 6 Hours

Students will also complete an additional 23 credit hours, not counting electives, within three distinct minor study areas, 6-9 hours in each.

Bachelor of Science | Bachelor of Arts | Bachelor of Music

As part of University of the Cumberlands’ bachelor’s degree requirements, each student must complete 128 semester hours. A third of all coursework must be completed at University of the Cumberlands, with thirty of the last thirty-six hours also completed here.

The program requires coursework in the following areas:

Science – 4 Hours
History – 3 Hours
Culture – 3 Hours
Aesthetic Appreciation – 6 Hours
Social and Professional Awareness – 6 Hours

Students will also complete an additional 72 credit hours, not counting electives, within three distinct minor study areas, 21-24 hours in each.
