Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) Degree

General Information
Our accredited Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program is designed to teach you the skills you need and can be completed in as little as 27 months.

Physician assistant (PA) requirements include 113 credit hours, 68 of which are earned through didactic coursework in a traditional classroom and laboratory setting.

All didactic coursework takes place on the university campus in the Forcht Medical Wing of the Correll Science Complex. The remaining 45 hours of the Physician Assistant Studies program are earned during the second year in the program through 10 supervised clinical rotations in the field. If you are looking for accredited physician assistant programs, consider University of the Cumberlands, where you can earn real-world PA experience while learning hands on.

Accreditation Statement

The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies Program sponsored by the University of the Cumberlands.

Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation-Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.

Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class.
