Our accredited Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program is designed to teach you the skills you need to provide physician assistance in Kentucky and can be completed in as little as 27 months.
Physician assistant (PA) requirements include 113 credit hours, 68 of which are earned through didactic coursework in a traditional classroom and laboratory setting. All didactic coursework takes place on the university campus. The remaining 45 hours of the Physician Assistant Studies program are earned during the second year in the program through 10 supervised clinical rotations in the field, which are designed to provide students with real-world experiences in family, internal and emergency medicine; surgery; psychiatry; pediatrics; and women’s health.
What You’ll Learn in Our Physician Assistant Masters Programs
Our Master of Physician Assistant curricula is comprised of basic, behavioral and pre-clinical sciences of medicine. You will also learn the foundational clinical and critical thinking skills required for the clinical phase of our Physician Assistant graduate programs. Upon completion of your studies, you will be prepared to integrate your knowledge of anatomy, physiology and other clinical sciences to evaluate patients, arrive at an appropriate differential and formulate the best plan of management.
