Didactic Courses. These courses comprise the 68 credits of coursework to be completed in the MSPAS program. These classes are all completed during the first four semesters of candidacy.

Semester one: Total: 15 credit hours.

Clinical Rotation Experiences

Clinical rotation experiences are designed to provide students with supervised experiences that will enable the student to do the following:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage common acute and chronic problems Provide preventative health and health maintenance
  • Integrate with other members of the health care team
  • Utilize evidence based practices/principles as part of the Physician-PA student team Record and communicate medical data in an organized, intelligent process
  • Identify role limitations and indications for referral and consultation
  • Develop skills and habits necessary for life-long learning
  • Provide compassionate culturally competent healthcare to all patients
  • Clinical experiences are designed to provide students with experiences in:
    • Family Medicine
    • Internal Medicine
    • Surgery
    • Emergency Medicine
    • Psychiatry
    • Pediatrics
    • Women's Health
