RN-BS Program

Based on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s Essentials of Baccalaureate Nursing Education, the RN-BS program is designed to build on the registered nurse’s knowledge and skills in seven areas: leadership, quality improvement, evidence-based nursing practice, nursing informatics, population-focused health promotion and disease prevention, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professionalism. Graduates of the accelerated nursing program are prepared to assume roles in leadership positions, in the management of complex clinical care coordination, and in community/public health. Successful completion of the accelerated online RN-BS Program provides the academic foundation for graduate study.

The RN-BS program also subscribes to the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice (2010), which includes six standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and 10 standards of professional performance (ethics, education, research, quality of practice, leadership, collaboration, professional practice and evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).

This accelerated nursing program is 100% online and can be completed in as little as 12 months. Our rolling admissions and accelerated 8-week bi-terms are designed to accommodate the needs of working professionals. As a student of the online nursing program you will strengthen your skills through coursework and practice experiences focused on critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership and management development. Upon graduation you will have earned the knowledge necessary to enhance your service as a professional member of the health care community in a variety of venues and situations.
