Dr. Perkins graduated from Williamsburg City School and Cumberland College. Following employment with a major pharmaceutical company he graduated from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City Missouri. He completed a transitional year in family medicine and then a four year residency in obstetrics and gynecology through Ohio University. He is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist. Dr. Perkins has extensive laparoscopic surgical experience. He is the father of three daughters and enjoys working on his farm. Dr. Perkins office is located on the second floor of the Forcht Medical Wing in Room 224

David Williams is a practicing board certified family physician. He has been in solo practice in Williamsburg, KY for over 20 years. He is a graduate of Jellico High School in Jellico, TN, Tennessee Technological University and the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine. His family practice residency was completed at the University of Tennessee Memorial Research Center and Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Williams serves on various boards in the community including the Whitley County Board of Health. He currently serves as Medical Director for the Williamsburg Nursing Home. Dr. Williams is a deacon at the First Baptist Church, Williamsburg, KY. He enjoys hunting with his two sons. He, his wife and sons reside in Williamsburg, KY. Dr. Williams’ office is located on the first floor of the Forcht Medical Wing in Room 137.

Dr. Young is a practicing physical therapist who attended Cumberland College for pre-requisite courses and then transferred to the University of Louisville to complete a Bachelor of Health Science in physical therapy. She then continued her education at Shenandoah University completing a Transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Education Program at the University of the Cumberlands. She has over 11 years experience as a physical therapist working with a variety of patient groups in multiple clinical settings. Her primary area of practice is in pediatrics. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. Dr. Young’s office is located on the first floor of the Forcht Medical Wing in Room 132.

Kathleen Flynn graduated from the second PA Class of the University of Kentucky and has practiced in many specialties during her clinical career. She holds a BS Degree in Medical Technology and a BS Degree in Allied Health Science. She is a Diplomate Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She continued her education at Western Kentucky University where she earned a Master of Science degree and an Ed.S. Degree in Higher Education. Currently Ms. Flynn is enrolled in the University of the Cumberlands Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. She continues to remain clinically active in the practice of family medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Her hobbies include caring for special needs rescue animals. Ms. Flynn is the Director of Clinical Education for the Physician Assistant Program. Her office is located on the second floor of the Forcht Medical Wing in Room M227

Mr. Joe Reed, PA-C: Joe graduated from the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Program and later earned a Masters degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has been practicing Family Medicine with an emphasis in Preventive Health in Williamsburg, KY and Jellico, TN since 2001. He also has experience in Urgent Care, Surgical Assisting and Occupational Medicine. Joe has a passion for implementing technology into the health care field. He enjoys watching collegiate sports, especially the UC Patriots and the UK Wildcats. Joe's office is located on the first floor of the Forcht Medical Wing in Room M136.

Mr. Kenneth Reed, PA-C: Kenneth Reed was graduated from University of Nebraska with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree. He has over forty years of medical experience ranging from time spent in the Air Force, Ohio Air National Guard and Kentucky Army National Guard. In his spare time Ken enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends on Norris Lake. Mr. Reed’s office is located on the first floor of the Forcht Medical Wing in Room M135.

Mrs. Lesley Tipton, PA-C: Lesley Tipton graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She then continued her education at the University of the Cumberlands and was part of the first cohort in UC’s Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Mrs. Tipton is now a member of the UC faculty and duties include Assistant Professor in Pathophysiology, Clinic Coordinator, and Physician Assistant at UC’s Student, Faculty, and Staff Health Clinic. She enjoys spending time with her family, sports, and is involved with her local church. Mrs. Tipton’s office is located on the first floor of the Forcht Medical Wing in Room 134.

Dr. Scott Massey, PhD, PA-C, also currently serves as adjunct faculty teaching the MPAS 691 Capstone and MPAS 692 PANCE Review classes.  Dr. Scott Massey has more than 20 years of Physician Assistant Educational experience.  He has a full time position as Chair of the Physician Assistant Studies Program at Misericorida University.  Prior to his position at Misericorida, Dr. Massey more than spent 5 years at MCPHS.  He was appointed Associate Dean in 2007 and in 2008 Dean of the School of PA Studies Manchester/Worcester, in 2010 Dr. Massey was appointed Assistant Provost of Academic Affairs and splits his time between his college wide position and as associate professor of PA studies. 

Dr. Massey completed his Physician Assistant training at Kettering College in 1987, his BS degree in Liberal Arts from SUNY, Albany in 1989, MS degree in Counseling Psychology from University of Dayton in 1993 and PhD in leadership from Andrew University in 2003.  Dr. Massey is a 2008 graduate of the Management Development Program at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. 

Dr. Massey's doctorate dissertation studied the effects of cooperative learning verses traditional lecture on cognitive achievement critical thinking and attitude toward learning in teams in a Physician Assistant Program since completing his PhD.  Dr. Massey has focused his scholarship on learner centered education.  Since 2005 Dr. Massey has presented at the national level more than 20 times at the PAEA on topics related to teaching, learning and PANCE preparation.  Dr. Massey has practiced as a Physician Assistant in rural family practice, urban emergency medicine, university student's health, and long term care facilities.  In addition, Dr. Massey has provided professional service as an item writer for NCCPA.  He is on the PAEA TIB advisory committee (2011-2012) and served 5 years on PAEA education committee which is involved with planning and organizing the national PA educational forum.  Dr Massey co-authored Classroom to Clinic Study System:  Personal Professor for Clinical Rotations and PANCE/PANRE Review released in December 2010.
