Mid-Continent University Transfers

University of the Cumberlands has been approved through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Accreditation to provide a “Teach Out” opportunity for qualifying Mid-Continent University students. This means that students who require 30 hours or less to complete their bachelor’s degree will be provided with the remaining courses needed to graduate according to their planned program at Mid-Continent. UC will accept 100% of courses transferred from MCU. For students who have greater than 30 hours to complete their bachelor’s degree, their courses will be evaluated and the students will be placed on the UC planned program for completion of their program (see below for details).

School of Lifelong Learning:

Our online Lifelong Learning Bachelor of Science programs are designed to accommodate adult learners seeking to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: Psychology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Missions and Ministry, Health Science, or Business Administration. MCU students who are majoring in Christian Ministries may have an online completion option for this major as well.

Transfer of Credit:

Students who need <30 hours to graduate at MCU:

  • UC will transfer 100% of MCU credit.
  • Remaining courses needed by MCU students to graduate according to the MCU plan will be substituted with comparable UC courses.

Students who need >30 credit hours to graduate at MCU:

  • UC will transfer 100% of MCU credit
  • MCU students will have a transcript evaluation completed by the registrar’s office at UC
  • Students will be placed on a UC planned program of study and complete the specific coursework for the majors/concentrations at UC.

Cost: $199.00 per credit hour plus a $50.00 tech fee per bi-term. All application fees are being waived.

  • Official Transcript(s): Transcripts must be received directly from high school or college (if applicable), and show a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or above on a 4.0 scale. GED applicants must provide official scores.

Please keep in mind, all new students must be admitted at least two (2) weeks prior to the term they would like to begin. See the schedule for summer and fall classes on the academic calendar outlined below:

Summer I Bi-term: May 12-July 3, 2014
Summer II Bi-term: July 7-August 26, 2014
Fall I Bi-Term: September 2-October 23, 2014
Fall II Bi-term: October 27-December 18, 2014
