The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MA-CMHC) program at University of the Cumberlands (UC) was recently recognized as the most affordable online counseling program in the nation.

Rankings to determine affordability were organized by Grad School Hub, an independent resource aimed at helping students explore graduate programs in their respective fields.

The School of Counseling at UC offers classes entirely online that are designed for both recent baccalaureate graduates and those looking to broaden their experience in the field of counseling. While in the program, students gain knowledge in human growth and development, counseling during grief, psychological assessments in clinical practice, and more. The School also offers a master’s program in addiction counseling. The goal of both programs is for graduates to obtain a license as a professional counselors, with many seeking certification as addiction counselors.

“We are CACREP accredited, giving our programs the highest seal of approval for counseling programs,” said Dr. Martin Wesley, Dean of UC’s School of Counseling. “We also have the only fully synchronous online counseling program in the world. This allows our students to get to know their professors and other classmates in a way that most other online programs do not offer.”

Applications for UC’s counseling programs are accepted throughout the year on a rolling basis. The cost per credit hour is $400.
