Jelenny Marquez has been a professor of psychology here at the University of the Cumberlands since 2023. Jelenny also teaches at various universities; namely, Arizona College of Nursing, Pierce Mortuary Colleges, Delaware State University, University of the People, and Southern New Hampshire University. With over 18 years of extensive experience in the education sector, Jelenny has cultivated profound expertise not only in teaching but also in the realms of forensic analysis, psychology, social work, and business. Jelenny's notable tenure includes dedicated service with the Miami-Dade Police Department and the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. In the present day, Jelenny wears multiple hats with pride and distinction. Beyond academia, Jelenny's passion lies in advocating for children. She is deeply committed to the well-being of children and families in the foster care system and also dedicate her expertise as a mental health therapist for children’s behavioral health in Oregon.

Outside of her professional commitments, Jelenny finds solace in a variety of leisure pursuits. She is passionate about traveling, finds serenity in playing the piano, and is ever-curious, always diving deep into new areas of research. At the core of Jelenny's life is her family. She shares her journey with a loving spouse, is a proud parent to four remarkable children, and finds joy in the company of her four spirited chihuahuas.
