Dr. Mills, a resident of Barbourville, Kentucky, earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands. Dr. Mills has over 20 years of experience in education, serving as a classroom teacher in multiple grade levels and subjects, and is a National Board Certified Teacher (2005) in Early Adolescence Social Studies. Her research interests are in the areas of barriers to technology integration, instructional technology, instructional design, and education technology impact. 

In her personal life, she enjoys many outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with her husband, three children, and two grandchildren.
