Selina A. Hernandez is a licensed professional counselor supervisor with a PhD in Counselor Education. She has been a registered play therapist for about three years. Her clinical experience involves treating children, adolescents, adults, and families in outpatient and inpatient mental health treatment. She aspires to fight the mental health stigma to promote the well-being of others, especially in minority communities. She emphasizes culture's importance and its impact on the individual. She aims to understand the essence of the individual's experience to personalize treatment and stay updated with approaches or techniques that best fit clients from various backgrounds. Her research areas include multicultural education, social justice, sand tray therapy, chiChicanoudies, crisis intervention, women and men issues, and strategies for serving minority populations.
